Swim -
5:30 Hot Tub and 6:00 am workouts are the BEST!! The coaches will be asking all the morning swimmers to sign up as 2009 U.S. Masters Swimmers. Reasons: membership supports national and local master swim programs, membership legally protects the deck coaches, membership means more fun team events. We will bring hardcopy sign-up forms to the morning swim. The swim coaching schedule is always on the blog sidebar. Upcoming meet information. San Luis Obispo Masters short course yards meet - November 21-22, 2008. Save the Date!!

Last Saturday’s ride: Wasn’t except for Kurt who rode and rode and rode and then cleaned and cleaned and cleaned!! AND for Steve “La Minibar” and Mike Lewis who rode the Furnace Creek 508 as a two person team and finished as the third two person team overall and as the first 40+ team in a time of 28 hours 22 minutes!!! And for Brian Smallwood who rode with Max Hogan as a two person team and finished as the fourth two person team overall and as the first 50+ team, setting a new 50+ record, in a time of 28 hours 46 minutes!!! Sounds like it was an exciting event for our Team Kman members...and now.........read the “short” report!!! Here it is...

Steve's 508 Report - 508 hammerfest/sufferfest report:
While you guys were drinking wine at the meeting, Mike Lewis and I were burning up the course at the Furnace Creek 508. We won our age group, finished 3rd team, one ahead of Smallwood and Hogan who also won the 50 age group. Smallwood and Hogan kept up with us until mile 200 or so, it was cool that they were our main competition for the 2 man team race. In the end (miles 450 to 508) Smallwood was closing on me by a few minutes but the gaps Mike Lewis was making with the time trial bike kept us ahead of them by a mere 20 minutes or so. Team Bonedog went 28:22, 3 minutes faster than last year, I only realized with 5 miles to go that we were going to actually beat Bonedog's 2007 time. The relay time table charts have been updated as of today, they can be checked out at www.the508.com , go 8==8 Dog
