•Ride: Saturday, 03/07/09
- Let's meet at Atascadero Kman at 8 am and head out as follows: El Camino to Santa Ysabel to 41 to Templeton road to left on Templeton rd at El Pomar to straight on Vineyard all the way to 46. Left on 46 to York Mt., do the climb and then turn left back toward town on 46, then take a left on Jack Creek, Jack Creek to Vineyard, Vineyard to Willow to Peachy and up Peachy and down into Paso for some refreshments at Cider Creek. Then back home by way of Niblick and River Road or Linne/Geneseo if folks think the Colamarino/Zappas trench will be passable.

Last Saturday’s Ride: Thirteen lucky riders rode the Pozo loop. Some hard efforts were made on the way to the Rinconada summit where Louise and Steve Lamachine turned back due to their Sunday ride plans. The remaining eleven headed on to Pozo and beyond and nine returned by way of the Creston store and it's burritos.

•Ride to San Diego ??? This from North County Rider, Glenn Gaw. "I would like to entertain the idea of a 3-4 day bicycle ride to San Diego. I'm thinking of Spring/Summer. I've talked to a couple of people who said they're game. The discussion hasn't gone past that. Would anyone really be interested? (We have a volunteer) to function as sagwagon. The thought is to hotel it for the way down, take the train home. Cost of lodging, food, train ticket, would be somewhere around $300-$500 per person, depending on how many make the trip (Lots of variables here!). If you are indeed interested, I would like to know via RSVP. My contact information is below. Thanks!

Martina writes. "Meet 8:30 at Bethel Road Park. Out and back on Santa Rita (unless we get much more rain - then I'll change the course). Bring your own water and gels - I'll provide refreshments afterwards. Thanks, Martina."

-->Map to park at(Bethel and Vineyard)We do a variety of mileage and everyone is welcome: Walkers, Sloggers, Joggers, Runners.

Robyn reports: "I am looking for volunteers for the upcoming Hares N Hounds 5K. I could use some helpers for race packet stuffing theThursday night before the race, volunteers for registration, finish line and course. Please contact Robyn Schmidt if you are interested. runninrobyn@gmail.com

Big Sur Marathon Relay - We are still looking for a 5th female masters runner for the Big Sur Marathon Relay in April. The relay legs are between 4 miles and 7 miles. It will be along the beautiful Hwy 1, fun with other Team K-Man ladies and of course lots of chocolate since our name is "Team K-Man Chicks on Chocolate". The entry fee per person is $60. The hotel room for 1-2 nights will be around $30 per night per person. Please contact Robyn Schmidt with any questions.

T&Th morning runs - If anyone is interested in running with us Keith and Robyn run at 8:30 am on Tuesday and Thursday mornings we will start from the Atascadero Lake Park/Zoo parking lot. Tuesdays are easy 4-6 miles. Thursday mornings are farlek.

Track Workouts - I would like to start the "track" workouts up next Wednesday evening (March 4) at 5:00 pm. Instead of at the High School track, where the High School has soccer games for at least 3 more weeks, we will meet at the Atascadero Lake Park. There are 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 mile distances marked. Runners, walkers and short distance, pacing cyclists are welcome. Kids can play at the park with a designated caretaker while others go around the lake. Come join us and enjoy the beauty of the lake and invigoration of a well done workout.

Upcoming Races/Fun Runs/Walks include:

-->Saturday March 21st @ 8:00 Hares and Hounds 5K and Youth 1/2 mile Runners/Joggers/Walkers/Volunteers appreciated. Robyn Schmidt will have more information of volunteering soon

-->Sunday March 29th @ 8:00 Wine Country half-marathon and 5K Runners/Joggers/Walkers. Roberta, from Team Kman, would like to get Kman members out in force in the half-marathonwalk as well as the runs (walk begins at 7:15)
