August 15 - Be there!

************************

Announcement: Last week Louise Comar completed the Rush Randonnée, which started and ended in Davis. It was a 750-mile ride, which Louise somehow did in about 76 hours. Her target time was 80 hours; so she bettered her goal by a substantial amount. It was a pretty amazing feat. Bravissima, Louise!

Swim News – What beautiful morning we are having!  You don't even need the hot tub (just kidding).  I believe the Glenesk -fish will be back soon.

Bike News -  Saturday July 18thThis Saturday’s Team K-Man ride will take us to Paso Robles by way of Rocky Canyon, the Chicago Grade and Geneseo and Union Roads. From Paso, we will have our choice of return routes, depending on how far we want to ride in the expected heat.

We will meet at the K-Man Cyclery parking lot off El Camino Real, south of Santa Rosa, at or about 8:00 am. We will turn right (going south) onEl Caminoturn left on Viejo Caminoleft again on Halcon and left again on Rocky Canyon. From there it will be a right turn on Creston-Eureka Road (Old 41) to 41. We will then turn right again on 41, then left on Homestead, right on South El Pomar, up the Chicago Grade to Pomar Junction, where we’ll turn right on El Pomar. At Cripple Creek, we will then turn right on Creston Road, where we will turn left. After that, we will turn right on Geneseo. We will then follow Geneseo for several miles, turning right where it branches off from Linne. We will do the climb on Geneseo and stay on it all the way until it intersects with Union, where we will turn left. We will then turn left again onto Golden Hill Road, to Creston Road, where we will turn right into Paso Robles and across the 13th Street Bridge. Then we will take a break for refreshments at the Amsterdam coffee shop on 13th between Park and Spring.

From Paso, we can each decide for ourselves whether to return to Atascadero a longer or a shorter way, via either Adelaida, Peachy Canyon or River Road.

See you on Saturday.

Run Sunday – Start at 8:00 am in Templeton at the park on the corner of Bethel and Las Tablas.
