SWIM - Mark reports on swimming in Colorado. "This week I have enjoyed two workouts one at 7603 feet in Gunnison, CO and another at the 'highest competitive pool in the country' at Adams State College in Alamosa, CO."
Nancy Prier did a super job substituting today. Her workout was "FINTASTIK"!
Randy is out of the pool playing Captain "Jack Narrow" (with his sidekick "Shark bait Bob") at VBS this week. I understand he even goes home to take naps. Those kids can wear you out. He could be walkin' the plank instead of walking the deck by the end of the week. Or maybe he'll be swabbin' the deck...or...
Contest Winner...Mark Glenesk was the only one to guess correctly. Who will be joining the morning swim group, for the first time ever, after her daughter turns 12 on July 3rd?...Robyn Schmidt. She will be doing a few triathlons this year and will need some help with the swim. Prize - swim cap from K-Man Cycle & Run, design of your choice.

SPECIAL RIDE: On TUESDAY, JUNE 30TH AT 4:30pm let's join Sue Haas-Clark and the ZOO group in belatedly celebrating the longest day of the year with a summer solstice ride FROM CRESTON as follows:
Meet in Creston across the street from the Loading Chute at 4:30pm (on the south end of town on 229). We will take 229 to 41 and head east all the way to Shandon. After a quick stop at the Shandon Store we will continue on Truesdale going south to Shell Creek Rd, which we follow south to 58. We will turn right at the intersection and right again at La Panza to head back to Creston for dinner at the Loading Chute.
I have made reservations there for the group for around
7:45 - 8pm, but will need an exact head count a few days before the ride. Please RSVP to
clark9906@sbcglobal.net if you are planning to participate in the ride and/or the dinner.

All Comers Track Meets – Any other volunteers for the five Wednesday night track meets out there? WE REALLY NEED SOME HELP! IF YOU KNOW ANY YOUTH THAT NEEDS COMMUNITY HOURS PLEASE SEND THEM OUR WAY. We are trying to help keep the track alive. If you can make it to any of the meets please let us know. The tasks are simple (Mike and Flo took the hard one).
There will be a training session on Tuesday June 29th at the track. It will go from 6:30 - 7:45. If you cannot stay the entire time please come for the time you have available.
This is a great event. Lots of fun, especially if we have lots of volunteers. You get to make an athletic impression on young people and be a part of this wonderful athletic community that we participate in. The money raised to goes to the High School Athletic Foundation and helps with costs to maintain the all weather track at AHS.
Please contact Keith (kmanandrobyn@gmail.com) or Robyn (runninrobyn@gmail.com) if you can volunteer.
