Run News:
Team K-Man members Kim Lacey and Brooke Hatcher were troopers and came to help.  We filled cups and splashed and served quickly then it was all over.  The capes were flying and the "K" was worn proudly!

The SLO Half Marathon is April 27:

News item from member: "I think this headline is a little misleading - it should be "why
runners knees don't get arthritis any faster than walkers knees". But
still quite interesting."

============================================
Summary of Team K-Man's mission and purpose, "The Board Members discussed the fact that, though the Mission Statement did not refer or contemplate it, Team K-Man has grown into a position of leadership in athletic endeavor in the North County. Organizing and managing regular training activities, as well as periodic events, in swimming, bicycling and running; and doing so not only for its own membership, but inviting and encouraging participation by all who are interested; Team K-Man has become an important source of direction and leadership for athletes throughout San Luis Obispo County. In swimming, for example, the master swim group that meets at Kennedy Club Fitness in Atascadero on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays is not limited to Team K-Man members, but is organized and led by Team K-Man, which provides coaching for all who participate, members or not. In bicycling, not only does the club publish and lead a bike ride every Saturday, which is open to all, but it also organizes bicycling trips such as the annual Coast Ride, which, again, are not limited to Team K-Man members. In addition, the Team K-Man website provides for the public a page listing all organized group bike rides in the North County. With regard to running, there are the regular training runs, as well as participation in running events locally and outside the area.

The activism of Team K-Man in initiating, organizing and leading swimming, cycling and running activities, combined with an inclusiveness that encourages participation by all, regardless whether they are Team members, has brought about a situation in which we find ourselves in the positions of leaders without having intended to do so. We take pride in this and encourage all of our members to accept the mantle of leadership and help out in initiating, organizing, and managing the training sessions and events that we offer to our members and non-members alike.
