Topic #2 - 2014 Challenge Board

Doug Conner has been doing some awesome work on the 2014 Challenge Board. There are tabs on the top of the page that are worth exploring.
In the past the K-man Challenge meant you had to achieve at least 100% of the mileage (hours for kinetic) in one category or at least 50% in two categories. It's now expanded so your efforts in all four categories count toward the 100% total. Check out the Total Effort page to see where you stand.

--------------------------------------------
Topic #3 - Swim Coaching:
Koach Karen enjoyed her time coaching but with all her other responsibilities it became problematic. Nancy Prier has accepted the challenge of coaching us for the month of April while we search for another coach. Nancy will earn the coaching stipend for the month.

Thank you: Kelly, Janeil, Jacquie, Ellen R, Francois, Jason, Dawn, Abby, Keith, Peggy, Mike A, Mike B, Lori, Kirk, Mark, Jen, and Dale for contributing to the Coaching Stipend Fund. If you would like to contribute to the coaching fund
go to this link to pay for Coaching - thanks.

Koast Ride - Third Monday(May 18/19) in May- Save the Date. This ride will go from Karmel to Kambria(100 miles). So far we know:

A) We need a volunteer SAG driver on the way back down.

B) Paul Allen will drive the Bick Mobile and trailer up to Carmel on Sunday. If you would like to be one of the first 6 team members to reserve a spot in the car going up on Sunday email news@teamkman.org and tell us.

B1) Tip: A one-way car rental from Enterprise(pick up car Sat) and return to Monterey Airport on Sun is about 80$ (bikes could go in the trailer) 6.8 mile bike ride from airport to hotel.

C) If you are cycling up earlier you may leave a bag in the K-trailer.

It will be at the shop Thursday till departure on Sunday.
Keith said he would leave the key for the lock on the trailer in the shop.
Alternatively you could give it to another rider that is coming on Sunday.

D) Mark Glenesk are riding up on Saturday from Lake San Antonio. On Sunday the plan is to relax and ride 17 mile drive.  If you would like to ride up with them email mglenesk@charter.net

E) Terry Lentz and Louise Comar, are riding up Saturday to King City and then Sunday to Karmel. If you would like to ride up with them email LEComar@pacbell.net

F) If driving up on Sunday then meet at The K-Shop at 10:00 am on Sunday to load the bikes and bags in the K-trailer and ready for a 10:30 am departure. It is a good idea to bring a blanket for your bike.

G) Arrive at the hotel at about 1:00 you may be able to get an early check-in; or just switch to bike clothes for a 17 mile drive loop; or a nice walk in downtown Carmel before checking in.
