All Comers Track Meets – Any other volunteers for the four remaining Wednesday night track meets in July out there?
This is a great event. Lots of fun, especially if we have lots of volunteers. You get to make an athletic impression on young people and be a part of this wonderful athletic community that we participate in. The money raised to goes to the High School Athletic Foundation and helps with costs to maintain the all weather track at AHS.
Please contact Keith (kmanandrobyn@gmail.com) or Robyn (runninrobyn@gmail.com) if you can volunteer.

Samantha Schmidt is doing another home performance to raise money for an awesome cause; CCA, Children’s Cancer Association. This time she will be doing

pm and the show will start at 8 pm. A $10 donation is requested. It is at the Schmidt house.

============

Hello to all... Below is the "Clif Notes" summary of my current medical situation: I am currently (as of 6/29)still residing in Community Memorial Hospital. I am in the hospital due to symptoms of a stroke that occurred 2 hours after completing a Triathlon on Sunday 6/27. After 2 and a half days of testing here is what they know- I have a much lower than "normal" resting heart rate (35ish), I have a low normal blood pressure (100/50), if I stand up, my blood pressure drops- and if it drops below 85 which it often can do, I get a reaction from the reduced blood in my brain that triggers the stroke symptoms, they have determined that I have a somewhat common defect in my heart septum which can result in a pass through of clots to the brain, they have observed ventricular tachicardia (heart ventricles working out of sync with main valves). What is still needed to be resolved short term is how to keep my blood pressure up so I do not trigger the stroke symptoms.
Longer term more tests are needed to define if I am having strokes or symptoms, and what is needed to be done to more permantantly prevent them. In addition we need to determine if the ventricular tachicardia is really a problem, and if so take actions for that.
More tests are scheduled for tomorrow to determine if my symptoms can be controlled sufficiently to release me. When I am released more detailed tests will be scheduled for the longer term issues.
Thank you all for the fantastic support. If anyone wants to pass this on to anyone else interested, you are welcome to do so.

Regards,
Brian

==========
After leaving my home at shortly before 5 am Sunday 6/27, I have finally returned just before 4 pm Wednesday 6/30. This whole adventure really shows the importance of embracing the moment, as you never know what tomorrow will bring :)

While I cannot describe how happy I am to finally make it home, I am a little overwhelmed at the reality of what remains in front of me. My release from the hospital was not based on reaching a standard of recovery or health, but based on the reality that there was nothing left that the hospital could do.
So, today I begin a new journey, that will literally be one step at a time. I am incredibly fortunate to have so many friends in the Rincon Family with experience to help guide me.
My immediate focus and goal will be learning how to manage my symptoms and make it through a day safely and without incidents.
Thank you to all for the positive thoughts and support. I can assure all of you that I look forward to sharing training days and adventures with each of you in the near future. See you soon :)

Brian
