Team Social -

As usual, the food was excellent, the friends were fun and we all were full with food and joy in the end. There were multiple speakers. Ellen Rockholm talked about swimming. Louise shared her cycling experiences and circuit accomplishments. Robyn talked a little about upcoming run events (like Big Sur Half Marathon in November). But, the "best guest speaker ever" per Linda Menigoz, was Kameron Schmidt with Sheila, a 4 foot long Ball Python. Many of our brave and bold athletes stepped up to the "snake" and touched Sheila. Nobody wanted to take her home.

SWIM - Ellen Rockholm would have loved to have team-mates at the World Championships in Sweden...PERIOD.

BIKE -

For those riders heading to the coast for the Lighthouse Century, have a great ride!

For those riders staying north of the grade, let's ride the Klaus Mine loop with a Chimney Rock extension option and then back into Paso. Leave Kman at 8am and head left on El Camino, right on Curbaril, left on Santa Ysabel, right on 41, left on Templeton rd, to left at El Pomar and straight on Vineyard to 46, cross 46, to right on Willow to left on Peachy to right on Vineyard to left on Adelaida to left on Chimney Rock. Riders can choose to go all the way to the end of Chimney rock and back (10 extra miles round trip) to a right on Cypress Mt or head directly left on Cypress Mt instead. Left on Klaus Mine, right on Adelaida all the way in to Paso and Amsterdam Cafe. At the cafe we will raise our mugs to wish Terry and Mike Lewis great rides in the upcoming Furnace Creek 508 next weekend. Return to Atascadero by group consensus.

RUN - This coming Sunday is the Heritage Oaks Family Fun Day. Come run or cheer on teammates who are running. Then, if you don't race, gather for a run of your own or with others.

Shaver Lake Triathlon - It was a beautiful day except for a little smoke drifting in from the King's Canyon fire. The accomodations were excellent, the lake temperature awesome and the camaraderie was the best! Check out the results at...

SPECIAL NOTE - A young man (boy) with Juvenile Diabetes and his family were involved with a fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes. The "K" helped them along. See note below and photo above.

**The wine and roses ride is almost filled up.
Jen and Mark also signed up for the dinner the night before at Wild Horse.

If you don't do the ride, the dinner the night before is a good event on its own.
