Bike:
-->New pictures - 2009 Coast Ride in the Picture Archive in the the sidebar.
•Ride: Saturday, 03/21/09 - Let's Leave Kman shop at 8 am and ride to the coast by way of Curbaril, Santa Ysabel, right on 41, left on Templeton road all the way to left on Templeton road that then becomes Vineyard all the way to 46, then left on 46 to right on York mountain (optional) back to 46 and on to left on Old Creek and down to Cayucos for Jobella coffee at Oneal's, then up the coast to Cambria (optional) and then back up the climb on 46 and home. Shorter options include riding up to the top of 46 or up to the top of Old Creek and returning to the shop. Louise will NOT be present as she will be cycling out of Santa Cruz this Saturday so all are on their own. Route changes are possible by the riders who show. Enjoy!
The Solvang Century Report. Solvang Century: Congratulations to Martina, Kristie, Doug Hicks, & David Bower for their first century finish and to Linda Hicks for her first half-century finish! It was a challenging day of cool temperatures and wind. But the organization did a terrific job with traffic control, having officers stopping traffic for the riders at most major intersections!! Louise and Steve LaSun Machine finished the century as well.
The Solvang Century Martina Reports. "Kristie Lahr and I traded in our running shoes for cycle gear last Saturday for the Solvang Century Ride. We were fortunate with the weather (no rain). It was a cool and overcast day. The route took us through beautiful countryside from Solvang to Lompoc, Vandenberg, Santa Maria, and Los Olivos. There were familiar faces along the course and we ran into David Bower at several stops. Rated as “difficult”, we found that the challenges made the course interesting and fun. We’d definitely consider another century bike ride....but running stills ROCKS!"
