Thank you Martina and Joe Kingman. The Kingmans welcomed the San Luis Distance Club and Kman members to their hill top home for an absolutely fantastic Memorial Day Run. The 4, 6, 9 mile courses were rolling to hilly and VERY scenic. The spread for breakfast was really amazing from the fruit salad, pancakes, egg souffle, to the Champagne, OJ, and Firestone. Thank you again for an incredibly invigorating and restful Monday.

Member Steve LaChaine does the Hoodoo 500 race this Saturday. You can view the Webcast on Saturday and Sunday. at http://www.planetultra.com/Hoodoo500/index.htm
Steve says. "The Voyager catagory which has 10 riders including me starts at 5:00am Saturday. I should be in Kanab by 10:15am. I can't estimate well after that but there are 7 time stations on the webcast that you can check into. I should be in the city of Loa (mile 285), Utah by 4:00am on Sunday but who knows. Time stations are at miles 82, 154, 203, 285, 375, 433, 504, finish is 519 miles."
Saturday Ride: Let's celebrate the new pavement of River Road and ride to Indian Valley road and Hare Canyon. Let's leave A-kman at 8 am and head out Templeton Road to right on Lupine to right on El Pomar to left on Hollyhock to left on Neil Springs to right on River then straight through Paso all the way to San Miguel (20ish miles) Depending on distance and desire we can stop at the Railroad market in San Miguel (If we don't stop in San Miguel you will need food and water for 50 ish miles) or head straight to Indian Valley Road where we cruise 10 miles up to Hare canyon where we take a left, climb a bit and then enjoy the new pavement on the fast 7 mile descent. At the bottom we will regroup and turn around and climb back up then return to San Miguel (and the coffee shop) and then home by way of River Road. (76 miles). For a 50 mile ride you can turn around at San Miguel or a little beyond. For a 60 mile ride you can turn around at the base of Hare Canyon. See map 15 for roads mentioned.
