Run News -

This"weekend" the run is being hosted by Martina & Joe Kingman...

We are teaming up with the San Luis Distance Club on Labor Day Monday, Sept. 7th at 8:30am for a Running Social here at Martina & Joe Kingman's house (6440 Long Hill Pl, Paso Robles).

We will have a 4, 6 and 9 mile course set out on paved and dirt roads, and fire trails with water and gatorade. Following the run, Joe will be serving up a pancake breakfast. Bring your swimsuit and cool off in the pool, afterwards.

This event is a repeat of the July 4th event we had last year. We had a fabulous turnout and hope for the same this year. For those of you on the "dark side" (i.e. preferring two wheels instead of two feet), you are welcome to bring your mountain bikes instead and lead the way for our runners.

For more information or for directions, contact Martina at martinkingman@yahoo.com

Thank you Martina and Joe!

Other News:

Tuesday, September 1st was not such a great start to this cookin' month for a couple of team members. As K-Man is heading out for his run Byron Hatcher called to request the K-Ambulance pick him up out on Rinconada Grade (second photo at top). Byron had a flat front tire and hadn't noticed it going uphill (stud) but once he turned to go down hill that tire gave out and dropped Byron on to his hip and shoulder...OUCH!!! On a positive note, there was very little road rash. The K-Ambulance met Brooke at Twin Cities hospital for radiographs and pain meds. In the end it seems that there was only a collar bone fracture. We took him some DARK chocolate a little later and all is good.

Later at the K-house...as I returned from errands Kameron greeted me with the message that Daddy "scratched" his leg a little. The smirk on his face told me otherwise. the bloody towel on the porch confirmed my suspicions that it was not "just a scratch". One of our new Cutco knives fell off the counter and landed in Keith's leg. Remember his "HUGE" calves? Well, this one is deflated (see first photo at top). I'm sure it will "pump up" again.
