This weekend is the three day Spring Splash meet in SLO. Swimmers may deck enter the morning of the meet. Hope to see YOU poolside!

Bike - Saturday, April 24: For those not riding the Wildflower...... We will ride to 46, Estrella, and Hog Canyon. Leaving Kman at 8am, we will head out left on El Camino, to right on Curbaril, left on Santa Ysabel, right on 41, left on Templeton, right on Lupine, left on Hollyhock, right on Neil Springs, left on Creston road and continue across Niblick to right on Golden Hills, right on Union and straight all the way to 46. Right on 46 and carefully left on Estrella. At that point we have a choice of continuing right on Hog Canyon and around to Ranchita Canyon to Cross Canyon to San Miguel for burritos and home. As an alternative we can proceed straight on Estrella to San Miguel for burritos and then return either by River road or for a longer ride, by way of Cross Canyon, Hog Canyon and Jardine to Tower to Airport to 46 to Golden Hills. Feel free to call Louise at 610-4210 if you are going to be joining the ride in progress.
To those riding the Wildflower ride this Sat, April 24 , enjoy the route and weather! -- If you are still trying to buy a registration this is a link for people trying to buy/sell WF Ride Registrations.

Koast Ride May 10th - 135 miles in one day down the Koast from Carmel to Paso or SLO. If interested in doing the 4th Annual Koast Ride - we need to know so you are kept informed. Email mglenesk@charter.net

May 9 - 1:00pm Warm up ride Sunday 1:45pm, 17 mile drive. Meet at the hotel.
May 9 - Staying at the Best Western Carmel Bay View Inn *(special rate info below)
May 9 - 5:00pm cocktails at Hog's Breath
May 9 - 6:00 pm Dinner at El Fornaio
May 10 - 7:10 am ride time
May 10 - Finish location - TBA
We haven't figured out SAG driver yet.
Let's see who is all interested and then we can figure details out.

*Special Rate for Sunday, May 9th, - Len has worked out a special rate say "Team Kman". Each room will cost $89, subject to the condition that we reserve ten or more rooms by May 3. For those who might want to make a weekend of it, the cost for a room on Saturday, May 8 will be the regular rate of $129.
To get our group rate, call and ask to speak with the general manager, Joanna, or if she is unavailable, for Mike. Mention the Team K-Man group name, and they should be able to take care of you. The hotel information is the following:

SPECIAL RECIPE
Here is the recipe for the "Terry Lentz 508 Granola Bars".
Sue H-C says,"for the Bitterwater Ride variety add ginger chunks(from Trader Joe's) and Ghiradelli semi-sweet chocolate chips (they will melt partially when you pour the hot milk into the mix). You can experiment by adding or subtracting ingredients according to your tastebuds."
Ingredients:
1 Package Lewis Farms Cranberry Knockout mix. (Found in produce section at Albertson's)
1 cup unsweetened coconut (Found at health food store near Von's)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 1/2 cups old fashion Quaker Oats
Preparation:
a) Heat condensed milk in sauce pan until warm and thin
b) Combine Quaker Oats, coconut, cranberry nut mix into a mixing bowl and blend together
c) Pour in heated condensed milk onto Oats, coconut, cranberry nut mix and blend together
d) Spread ingredients into greased 8 x 12 cookie pan with rubber spatula. Press and compact ingredient mix together with spatula using a firm paint stroke motion
e) Cut granola dough into squares before cooking. Make sure you repress and shape squares after cutting.
f) Cook bars for 45 min. at 275 degrees
Options to ingredients:
--Reduce Quaker Oats 1/2 cup and add semi-sweet chocolate chips (hot condensed milk will melt chocolate add after milk has cooled for chips or in mix!)
--1 to 2 tablespoons grated orange rind
--Orange flavored cranberries (Found at Trader Joe's)
--Dried Blueberries
